Thailand Day 7 - Happy New Year 馃帀
NYE was indeed chill celebration - a quiet dinner (we were the only ones in the restaurant). Some Northern Thai sausage, fried chicken and soup. Hit a bar after - whole area around the clocktower was surprisingly lively with live singers and a whole crowd of Thais coming out to drink and eat into the new year. Checked out the Chiang Rai Flower Festival 馃尭 which had a Tomorrowland-ish theme to it....
Thailand Day 6 - Slow day in Chiang Rai
Another chill day in Chiang Rai. Visiting temples the first half of the day (with the help of our little 馃浀) and spending the afternoon chilling at the hotel pool 馃挧 Looking forward to a non-crazy NYE celebration with some dinner and the local firework festivities.
Thailand Day 5 - Goodbye CM, hello CR 馃殣
Rather chill transfer day into Chiang Rai. Funny and competent driver. Got a glimpse of the White temple in CR which is about 20km outside of the city. CR itself looks like a rather sleepy provincial town but we like the vibe. Small night market and good food. Can鈥檛 complain! Scooter rented and ready for adventure 馃浀 馃尨
Thailand Day 5 - Easy Rider pt. 2
More amazing riding today with 100k roundtrip to mountain village Mae Kam Pong with the scooter. Overrun with tourists on this Sunday but the weather and the views from there were spectacular. The ride was another one to remember (at least the first part). Back to CM just in time for sunset and some dinner at Alice鈥檚. First time eating pork larb - just out of this world!
