NYE was indeed chill celebration - a quiet dinner (we were the only ones in the restaurant). Some Northern Thai sausage, fried chicken and soup. Hit a bar after - whole area around the clocktower was surprisingly lively with live singers and a whole crowd of Thais coming out to drink and eat into the new year. Checked out the Chiang Rai Flower Festival 🌸 which had a Tomorrowland-ish theme to it. Beautifully set at Kok River - we were there just in time for sunset. Finished with some snacks from the food stalls there and we can call it another day. Got the first massage on this vacation, more are sure to follow - my back is still too tight.
